My real name is John but you most likely know me as White Rabbid. I’m 36 years young and live in Czech Republic, which is country known for some of the best games like Vietcong, Mafia 1, 2, Kingdom Come: Deliverance and others. My biggest passion is of course games! Outside of games I love reading, writing, cooking tasty food and of course my wife and daughter with our hovawart doggy Samael!

  1. Fallout 2
  2. League of Legends
  3. Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines

What do you do at Wolf’s den?

I’m what we call an game director and environment artist. So my job is very diverse and exciting as every week looks wildly differently and you get to work with all the different disciplines within Wolf’s den Games. Most of the time I’m obviously working on the environment of our first map – you can see the progress in 👀-sneak-peek channel on our discord or through our social media.

What does a regular day working on a project look like for you?

Working around 5-12 hours on map environment design and ideas about the gameplay mechanics

What studies did you do & how did you start working in gaming?

I actually studied business and management school, but games were my passion from my early ages. Started as a game critic and gaming magazine editor, befriended few developers and then moved on to the development of games. And now I’m finally working on my own project. Some of my responsibilities include even making sure everything runs smoothly on our Discord, working on sneak peeks/events and to make sure the team is up to date with everything happening in the community and vice versa. This is not all however and you can expect much more from me and our team members in the future.

What do you do at Wolf’s den?

Programmer/Developer/Engineer. I do all the functionality stuff, like to make sure the player will be able to pick up/switch a weapon and shoot a monster and kill it, give the player objects to complete and make sure that there are no bugs in the game.

What does a regular day working on a project look like for you?

About 5-10 hours a day while having another part time job as a Unreal Developer.

What studies did you do & how did you start working in gaming?

Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Games was always a passion of mine I always fiddled with game development on the side, making presentations of my electrical projects inside Unreal etc. I also solo created/released a few mobile games. Game Development was a hard field to get into, but when more opportunities became available in the Game Development Industry and remote work were more possible, I switched over full time.

What does a regular day working on a project look like for you?

Designing and prepping an area of the map for assets that both look good and make sense from a game perspective.

What studies did you do & how did you start working in gaming?

Games have been a huge part of my life for at least 30 years, my earliest memories being watching my Dad on Atari/Amiga computers. I had learnt how to use Build Engine when DN3D was new on the scene, then Hammer when Half-Life was huge as well us learning each version of UE since the original Unreal game. Making a game has always been a dream for me, and some may know its something I have played with the idea of very recently, but felt alone I could not really achieve my vision… Then myself and Rabbid got talking, and we had more in common than we thought!
